all those who come

But, secondly, it will be a month of five increases compared to the previous ones that were 8 and 9. This is due to rate freezes in two items regulated by the Government and a bonus that will help offset the loss of purchasing power. In this context, this note summarizes the increases that you have to take into account.

Buenos Aires taxis

The rates of the taxi will receive a new increase in the coming months. The Buenos Aires government agreed to a hearing for September in which it will discuss the 50% increase and, as reported, it would be implemented in two sections: 25% in October and 25% in November.

Thus, the value of the current token, which is $35.10, will go to $43.80 in October, and $54.80 in November. While the flag drop -equivalent to ten chips- will cost $430.80 in October and $540.80 in November.

Netflix Raises

Netflix, the most recognized streaming service in the world, also increased its rates and its cheapest plan exceeded $2,000.

Although the increases established by the platform reached 67% for some plans, to this figure we must also add the 76% tax that affects all streaming services.

In this way, the prices of Netflix have escalated enormously this last month, with a basic plan that reaches $2,902.24 and the premium plan that from now on will cost $7,038.24. The new Netflix rates with taxes

To the Netflix increases in the last few hours, it is important to add the 76% tax that applies to all streaming services.

  • Basic plan: $2,902.24
  • Standard Plan: $4,926.24
  • Premium Plan: $7,038.24

Domestic workers

The national government announced on Sunday an extra bonus payment for the workers of particular houses. It will be for the only time and is part of the battery of measures announced to moderate the inflation impact behind the devaluation. In this sense, the workers will receive an increase as follows:

  • $25,000 bonus to be paid between the months of September and October and will be proportional to the hours worked.
  • 8% increase corresponding to the parity signed at the end of July by the National Commission for Work in Private Homes.

It is worth remembering that at that time, a 36% salary increase had been negotiated in three tranches, to be paid between the months of July, August and September. Therefore, this coming month will be the last in which they are covered by parities pending a new meeting in the Ministry of Labor.

As detailed in the agreement made by the National Labor Commission in private homes, an additional fee will also be applied for unfavorable zone equivalent to 30% of the minimum wages established for each of the categories with respect to personnel who provide tasks in the provinces of La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antártida and Islas del Atlántico Sur or in the party of Patagones in the Province of Buenos Aires.

rentals

Those who have signed their rental contracts in September 2022, they will have to pay from next month an increase of 112.5%. This is a new record of increase, since until now the highest figure had been that of August, of 109%.

Since June, the Rents suffer a three-figure increase. The current Rental Law establishes that the contracts have an annual adjustment, which contemplates the variation of inflation measured by INDEC and that of salaries established by RIPTE.

In this sense, in the case of a person who —by way of example— in the last 12 months paid a rent of $50,000, as of September 2023 they will begin to pay $106,477.73.

Public services

In September there will also be an increase in public service rates, but only for users belonging to the high and medium income segment. As confirmed by the Secretary of Energy, in the ninth month of the year the value paid to the generators will increase by about 11%. The increase will impact the electricity bills of users who no longer have a subsidy, that is, those with high (5.3 million households) and medium (2.8 million) incomes. Industries and businesses will also be affected.

Telephone, television and internet

Next Friday a new increase in telephone, television and internet services will come into effect. This is the sixth installment of the staggered increase authorized by the National Communications Entity (Enacom) last May, through resolution 557/2023.

The regulations established an increase of 4.5% per month, from May 2023 to December of this year. On this occasion, with the adjustment that will take effect from September 1, the maximum value of the second of mobile telephony voice will go from $0.84 to $0.91. For its part, the SMS will jump from $10.90 to $1140 and the value of 50 MB/day will go from the current $45.52 to $56.98. Companies may charge lower amounts, but never higher.

The adjustments apply to all kinds of plans, whether prepaid or postpaid, both in telephony, Internet and television.

subway

As of Sunday, September 3, traveling by subway is more expensive. The fare will increase by $6 and will cost $80 while the premetro ticket will be worth $28. This is the last rate increase scheduled for 2023 in the subway of the City of Buenos Aires.

The decision was approved through resolution 5, published in February in the Buenos Aires Official Gazette, after the respective public hearing. From SBASE they pointed out that “the update will allow the subsidy to be reduced, which at this moment is much higher than the historical average (86% compared to 60%).”
