The objective is to guarantee the development and application of AI in a responsible manner and for the benefit of all.
The Government created a table interministerial about artificial intelligence. The table will be made up of representatives of different ministries and government agencies.
The objective is to coordinate government actions in matters of artificial intelligenceand ensure that its development and application be carried out in a manner ethical, sustainable and that contributes to the digital transformation of the country.
In simpler terms, the interministerial table on artificial intelligence will be a dialogue space and coordination between the different Government actors working in this area. Its objective is to guarantee that the development and application of artificial intelligence is carried out in a responsible manner and for the benefit of all Argentines.
Artificial Intelligence: the details of the measurement
- Article 1: Creates the inter-ministerial table on artificial intelligence in the orbit of the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers. This means that the table will be under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, which is the body responsible for coordinating government actions.
- Article 2°: Designates the Chief of Staff and the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency as the coordinating bodies of the table. These bodies will be responsible for adoptingr the necessary measures for the operation of the table.
- Article 3: Integra the interministerial table on artificial intelligence with representatives of the following ministries and organizations:
- Head of Cabinet of Ministers
- Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation
- Ministry of Defence
- Ministry of Economy
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship
- Ministry of Health
- Ministery of security
- Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security
- Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency
- Article 4: Allows the Chief of Staff and the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs invite other jurisdictions to participate in the interministerial table, public and/or private entities. This allows the table can count on the participation of experts in artificial intelligence from different sectors.
- Article 5: Publishes the administrative decision in the Official Gazette. This gives official character to the decision.
It is worth remembering that the Government has been working on the development of the Artificial intelligence with the help of international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which last June granted a loan for US$35 million intended for Knowledge Economy Export Support Program.
As reported at that time, the ministries of Economy and Science and Technologytogether with the National Agency for the Promotion of Research, Technological Development and Innovation (R+D+i Agency), will use this financing over a period of five years.
The program will be executed through three components: human capital, development and adoption of new technologies based on artificial intelligence and promotion of the internationalization of knowledge economy companies. The co-executing agencies of the program will be the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Ministry of Economy.
