This was given by the seed cultivation boss Josef Fraundorfer announced at the 73rd ordinary general meeting of the cooperative. Despite the war in Ukraine (Saatbau also operates in Ukraine and Russia), the international subsidiaries recorded an increase in sales of around 25 percent.

“Seed corn remains the primary sales driver,” said Fraundorfer. This area accounts for 40 percent of the business.

Saatbau Linz, based in Leonding, is owned by 3,250 farmers and deals with plant breeding, seed propagation and contract farming. The range includes more than 600 varieties of 85 different crops.
