In August, The Monthly Estimator of Economic Activity (EMAE) registered an increase of 0.3% in the interannual comparisonwhich implies that it ended a four-month streak of falls, reported this day by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses of the Argentine Republic (INDEC).

At the same time, This index advanced 1.3% compared to July in the seasonally adjusted measurement. The trend-cycle indicator rose 0.2%.

In relation to the same month of 2022, eleven sectors of activity that make up the EMAE registered increases in August, among which stand out Exploitation of mines and quarries (+5.1% yoy) and Financial intermediation (+4.2% yoy).

The sector Exploitation of mines and quarries (+5.1% yoy) was, in turn, the one with the greatest positive impact on the interannual variation of the EMAE, followed by Wholesale, retail trade and repairs (+1.3% yoy).

For their part, four sectors of activity recorded falls in the year-on-year comparison, among which stand out Manufacturing industry (-3.5% yoy) and Agriculture, livestock, hunting and forestry (-2.8% yoy). Between them, they subtract 0.7 percentage points from the interannual variation of the EMAE.
