The first new department store will open in Eisenstadt, the capital of Burgenland, at the end of November. More than 30 new openings are expected to follow across Austria by the end of 2024.
In Germany, Woolworth has been one of the most successful retail companies in the country for several years, opening more than 100 new locations every year. By the time the old Woolworth company went bankrupt in 2009, the company already had locations in Austria. The product range extends from decorative and household items to electrical, drugstore and gift items through to clothing for the whole family.
