The Energy Secretariat of the Ministry of Economyby means of the Resolution 935/2023, established a temporary reduction in the Power Reference Prices (POTREF) and Stabilized Energy Price (PEE) of the WHOLESALE ELECTRICITY MARKET (MEM) for horticultural, fruit, wine and nut producers, cattle, sheep and goat farmers in the Province of Río Negro.

This measure comes in response to the declaration of a state of emergency and/or agricultural disaster due to late frosts, hail and drought, which impacts agricultural production in the aforementioned province. Likewise, it occurs hours after the visit of the Minister of Economy and candidate for president, Sergio Massato the province, in which he highlighted the confluence of different parties in Black river.

The detail of the standard
The resolution establishes that the reduction in prices It will apply from November 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
The beneficiaries of the measure are the producer users who have been identified by the Provincial Agricultural Emergency Commission of Río Negro and that they have the respective emergency certificate granted by the Ministry of Production and Agroindustry of the province.
To access the benefit, The Ministry of Production and Agroindustry of Río Negro must present the list of the affected establishmentsaccompanying a copy of the emergency certificate, before the respective Distributor Agents and/or Providers of the Public Electric Energy Distribution Service.
The Distributor Agents and/or Providers of the MEM Public Distribution Service, whose concession or area of influence is within the Province of Río Negro, must declare monthly to the COMPAÑIA ADMINISTRADORA DEL MERCADO MAYORISTA ELECTRICO SOCIEDAD ANÓNIMA (CAMMESA) the demand for energy and power destined to supply producer users who have the respective emergency certificate granted by the Ministry of Production and Agroindustry.

This measure is expected to contribute to mitigate economic damage caused by inclement weather and to protect the productive continuity of the affected farms.
