The online retailer Amazon also wants to sell cars via its platform in the future. The US group announced on Thursday at a motor show in Los Angeles its first cooperation with the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai to sell vehicles in the USA. The partnership also stipulates that Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa will be available in Hyundai cars from 2025.
Amazon wants to deliver cars to your home in the future
In the future, customers will be able to select their model and other options online. Once ordered, they can pick up the car from their local dealer or have it delivered to their home. Financing options are also offered on Amazon. Previously, car buyers could see offers on Amazon but could not make the purchase on the website. Stock prices of U.S. companies that sell used cars online plunged following the announcement.
