The Gas Heat Association wants to create more transparency in the relationship with its customers: A corresponding code of conduct should lead to comprehensible billing and offer “valuable guidance” in the event of payment difficulties. The code of conduct, which was signed by Wien Energie, among others, also stipulates that consumers must be warned twice, each with a two-week grace period, before an interruption in delivery due to late payment is permitted. The high costs have recently led to debates, especially in Vienna. The economic research institute Wifo had also recently criticized the matter and called for effective controls and regulations.
