The Dax interrupted its downward slide on Thursday. After three days with some significant price losses, the leading German index was able to stabilize somewhat in the first few minutes of trading with an increase of 0.03 percent at 16,436.18 points.

Recently, subdued hopes of imminent interest rate cuts in the USA had weighed on share prices. China’s sluggish economy is also unsettling. Against this background, the German leading index had fallen to the price level of the beginning of December during trading in the middle of the week. Since the beginning of the year, the decline has totaled around two percent.

The MDax of medium-sized stocks climbed by 0.24 percent to 25,311.27 points shortly after the start on Thursday. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 advanced by 0.32 percent to 4,417.33 points.
