With the hours counted to pass the omnibus law, The Government established a series of modifications. One of them is linked to the motion formula that affects retirees.
At first, the current pension mobility formula will apply Until April and then will update for inflation calculated by INDEC.
“The Government is going to comply with the quarterly adjustment that corresponds to all retirees in March, respecting the current formula. Starting in April, an automatic update for monthly inflation begins based on the latest inflation data available from INDEC. This way, retirees are guaranteed to maintain their purchasing power,” he said.
In no case can the application of said index produce the decrease in assets that the beneficiary receives, the document clarifies.
Retirements: what was the mobility formula like until then?
At the end of 2017, under the management of Cambiemos, Congress modified mobility and became updated quarterly for inflation (70% of the indicator) and salaries (30%). In December 2019, Alberto requested the suspension, Congress granted it and authorized him to give increases by decree until a new formula was defined.
In 2021, with prior authorization from Congress, Cristina’s formula was revived again, although it was defined that the salary share would be Ripte or Indec, whichever was higher.
Omnibus Law: what is said about privilege retirements
Among the modifications, Privilege retirements for president and vice president are eliminated. An end is put to a privilege of the caste where the Presidents accessed a million-dollar retirement for life.
As of the enactment of this law, the provisions of Law 24,241, of the Integrated Retirement and Pension System, are applicable to the President and Vice President of the Nation who completes their mandate.
On the other hand, the Judges of the Supreme Court of the Nation are included in the regime of lifetime monthly allowances that are established in this chapter from the cessation of their functions.”
