The number of commercial vehicles in the EU increased significantly last year. The strongest growth occurred in buses.
Significantly more commercial vehicles were registered in the European Union last year than in 2022. The strongest growth was in buses, as the industry association Acea reports. Sales here increased by 19.4 percent to 32,593 vehicles. Truck sales rose by 16.3 percent to 346,986 units. Delivery vehicles recorded an increase of 14.6 percent to 1.467 million vehicles.
Among the most important markets, Germany led the way for trucks with an increase of almost a quarter, followed by Spain. When it comes to delivery vehicles, Italy and Spain were well ahead of Germany, each with an increase of more than a fifth. For buses, registrations in Spain and Italy increased by more than half, while Germany recorded comparatively modest growth of 12.5 percent.
