Rheinmetall has received a major order from the Bundeswehr to supply an air defense system. As the arms company announced in Düsseldorf, Rheinmetall will supply the mobile air defense system “Skyranger 30” to the German armed forces. The order volume is 595 million euros. The order calls for the delivery of a prototype and a further 18 series vehicles. There is an option for 30 additional systems. The prototype is scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2024.

The system closes the current capability gap in mobile air defense, the company emphasized. “The system offers an optimal combination of mobility, protection, flexibility and precision to meet the growing requirements of challenging threat scenarios in the close and immediate range.”
