In a month marked by the strong devaluation of the peso, Sales in supermarkets and large wholesale centers fell by more than 7% year-on-year in December, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).

Specifically, in supermarkets they registered a drop of 6.6% in the last month of last year, compared to the same period in 2022, while in the wholesalers fell 7.1% in the same comparison, the agency reported.

Despite this, sales in supermarkets rose by 0.9% throughout last year, while in wholesalers they rose by 4.7%.
