Finally, while the discussion for a new pension formula is delayed, the Government of Javier Milei ordered by decree granting a new bonus of $70,000 for retirees which will be paid in the month of April. They seek to appease the effect of liquefaction resulting from the adjustment.
The news was confirmed this midnight following the publication in the Official Gazette of decree 268/24 that provides for “a pension financial aid for a maximum amount of pesos seventy thousand ($70,000), which will be paid in the month of April 2024.”
In the recitals, the Government considered granting the bonus due to “the serious socioeconomic situation that our country is going through has caused, among other issues, an accelerated rise in the price index, with special impact on older adults with lower incomes, for whom it is necessary to go to their support”.
The Government decreed the payment of a new bonus of $70,000 for retirees
To date, during the 2024 the retired who receive the minimum amount they have received two bonuses of $55,000 each one in the months of January and February, and one of $70,000 in the month of March “thus addressing the contingencies that the beneficiaries go through.”
In that sense, as the economic situation still continues to deteriorate income, the Government decided to “grant new social security financial aid for a maximum amount of SEVENTY THOUSAND PESOS ($70,000) for those holders who, due to the sum of the assets of all their benefits current, receive an amount less than or equal to PESOS ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE AND THIRTY CENTS ($134,445.30)”.
Meanwhile, in the case of holders who, for the sum of all their current benefits, receive an amount greater than $134,445.30, “the pension financial aid will be equal to the amount necessary until reaching the limit of $204,445.30.
The beneficiaries of the following benefits receive the there will be a minimum that will be $134,446 in March:
