This Easter, due to the 6-day extension of the weekend, this year there are 40% more tickets issued, according to Aerolíneas Argentinas. Hotel reservations are good too.
For this one XXL weekendwhich begins this Thursday, March 28 and will last until Tuesday, April 2, the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT) anticipated that “high levels of tourist concentration are expected in the different regions of the country, with occupancy figures that will even be above 90% in different national destinations“.
For its part, according to data from Aerolíneas Argentinas, this year there are 40% more tickets issued compared to the same long weekend in 2023 and the difference is enhanced by the 6-day extension of the weekend. Thus, there will be an average of 35,000 passengers daily during the XXL weekend.
The favorite destinations this Holy Week
The report of Argentine Tourism Observatory (OAT), carried out based on reports provided by provincial and municipal authorities of the different tourist spots and surveys carried out by the technical team of the organization, reveals that, among the most chosen destinations, at the moment – according to the level of reserves – are the provinces of Corrientes, Entre Ríos and Salta in general. And, within the provinces, the places preferred by tourists are:
- La Quebrada, Jujuy;
- Villa Unión and Chilecito, La Rioja;
- La Cumbrecita, La Falda and Villa General Belgrano, in Córdoba;
- Termas del Río Hondo, La Banda, in Santiago del Estero;
- San Rafael and city of Mendoza;
- Valle Fértil and Calingasta, in San Juan;
- Tinogasta and Fiambalá, in Catamarca;
- Villa Merlo in San Luis;
- Puerto Iguazú and Oberá in Misiones;
- Tafí Viejo and Tafí del Valle in Tucumán;
- the city of El Calafate, in Santa Cruz;
- Bariloche, in Río Negro and
- Some destinations in the Province of Buenos Aires and La Pampa.
“Many destinations highlight the positive impact of the Simple Fee Program in the tourism sector for this XXL weekend, which allows financing tickets, accommodations, packages and tourist services in three and six fixed installments with the lowest rate on the market to travel around the country,” highlights the report.
Some classic destinations
Sierra de la Ventana and Tandil They have high levels of hotel reservations, with 94% and 87% respectively. Chascomús It has an interesting 78% and San Antonio de Areco 75%.
Jujuy It has an average reserve at the provincial level of 75%, with peaks of 85% in La Quebrada. AND Jump It has very good occupancy expectations, with destinations that already exceed 80% in reservations.
On the Atlantic Coast, the city with the highest level of hotel reservations is Mar del Platawhich reaches 71%, followed by Villa Gesell, with 64%, and Pinamar and the Costa Partyboth with 61% reserves.
Patagonia
Land of Fire reported, based on the reserves report so far, that the province averages 65% reserves.
Chubut marks an average of reservations so far at the provincial level exceeding 50%.
In Neuquenthe provincial average of reservations so far is 47% and they expect to exceed 60% average occupancy during the XXL weekend.
