The Resolution 122/2024 of the Ministry of Justice indicated the increase in the value of the majority of registration fees and the update of the minimum amounts and limits of the amounts that Registry Officers receive for their work. After strong criticism, the ministry led by Mariano Cúneo Libarona made the suspension of the measure official.
The La Libertad Avanza official announced through his official account on platform the decision to stop the increases:
“After reevaluating the situation, we have decided to annul two resolutions that were announced today. Thus, the increase in forms and income of those in charge of automotive registrations is suspended.”

Official Gazette: Government suspends increase in automobile registration
As the Government explains through the resolution published this Thursday in the Official Gazette, “the obligation indicated in the preceding article covers transfers of used automobiles and motorcycleswhen the transfer price is equal to or greater than the amount indicated by the FEDERAL ADMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC REVENUEs through its institutional public page (https://www.afip.gob.ar).”
“As of the validity of this document, the amount referred to in article 2, Section 6, Chapter XVIII, Title II of the Digest of Technical-Registration Standards, replaced by article 1 hereof, will be PESOS TEN MILLION NINE HUNDRED NINETEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX ($10,919,766),” adds the regulations.
Reverse in the increases in the Automotive Registry: the reasons
As the Government argued in the new resolution, they decided to roll back the increases in the Automotive Registry after the Undersecretary of Registry Affairs reviewed the modifications and understood that without them “the correct functioning of the Technical and Financial Cooperation System established Laws Nos. 23,283 and 23,412″.
Another reason that led to reversing the measure of the Ministry of Justice was that “the sharp declines in inflation expectations for the coming months make it possible to reverse, in this instance, the modifications implemented through the Resolution.”
In this way, they explained that the changes introduced with the standard “they do not alter the correct functioning of the Sectional Registries of Automotive Property in all its powers”.
