The investors want to take a minority stake in the bus and train travel provider. According to a report, hundreds of millions will flow.
Flix is getting a new minority shareholder and additional capital. Investors EQT and Kühne are taking over 35 percent of the bus and train operator, as EQT and Flix announced. To do this, they want to invest in Flix as well as take over shares from existing investors. The goal is a “long-term anchor investment”.
Flix did not initially comment on the size of the investment or how much money the company would receive. The Handelsblatt, citing financial and investor circles, writes that the total sum is around 900 million euros.
According to its own information, Flix generated sales of more than two billion euros for the first time last year. The Munich-based company now offers its services in 43 countries around the world.
