More than 1,000 businesses were detected

In June, 1,056 illegal street vendors were detected in the City of Buenos Aireswhich involved a 1.3% increase over the previous monthand 1.8% compared to June 2023.

According to data from the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), Six of the 10 most affected blocks were in Oncewhile The other four corresponded to Avellaneda Avenue. That top 10 represented more than 60% of the positions surveyed.

78% of non-compliant businesses were in the clothing and footwear sectorfollowed by Food and Beverages with 11.2% of the total.

On the other hand, there was a 2.6% decrease in piracy cases compared to May 2024, with a total of 1,254 cases detected. Zona Once led the list of counterfeit goods in the clothing and footwear and optics, photography, watches and jewellery sectors.

The CAC report surveyed Av. Avellaneda, Av. Rivadavia, Av. Pueyrredón, Liniers Zone, Once Zone, Corrientes, Peru, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Cabildo, Juramento, Downtown, 9 de Julio, de Mayo, Callao and Lavalle. The sample also includes Once de Septiembre Station, Rivadavia Park, Retiro Station, Constitución Station, Plaza de Mayo, Lacroze Station and Belgrano C Station.

The survey was carried out between June 1 and 28, 2024 through an observation tour of the illegal trading stalls installed on both sidewalks of the aforementioned avenues, streets, stations, terminals and squares.

Meanwhile in The Silver81 illegal street vendors were detected on avenues, streets and pedestrian areas. This figure represents a decrease of 81% compared to May and a drop of 77.8% compared to June 2023.
