In the midst of the recession, Luis Caputo met with consumer goods companies to discuss strategies

The Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, held a meeting this Thursday at the Treasury Palace with representatives of the Major consumer goods companies to discuss on the situation of the sector and the Government’s measures to regulate the economy.

During the meeting, the Minister stressed that the National Government seeks toend the issuance of money, guarantee a fiscal surplus and put the macroeconomy in order.

In addition, Caputo emphasized the importance of the role of entrepreneurs so that “accelerate economic recovery.” In this way, he assured that he believes that “There are no macroeconomic reasons for inflation to continue and the elimination of the exchange rate restriction will be carried out in an orderly manner.”

Meanwhile, businessmen agreed that work together on a common agenda that prioritizes tax reduction.

The meeting took place after Caputo’s meetings with the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), the Chamber of Urban Developers (CEDU) and the automotive sector.

The Secretary for Production Coordination, Juan Pazo, and his counterpart for Industry and Commerce, Pablo Lavigne, also participated. Also present were the President of COPAL, Carla Martín Bonito, and representatives of Molinos Río de la Plata SA, Arcor SAIC, Mondelez Argentina SA, Grupo Peñaflor SA, Unilever Argentina SA, Danone Argentina SA, Cabrales, AGD, Mastellone, Las Marías, Nestlé, QuickFood, Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas, and Coca Cola.
