Airlines: traffic in Latin America is growing, but Argentina is still lagging behind

The Latin American air transport market continues to recoverdespite the serious crisis in which it was plunged after the impact of the pandemic. Although the figures are not homogeneous, in most countries the main airlines exhibited a broad capacity for resilienceas in some cases where they had to go through bankruptcy proceedings to restructure their debts and continue operating.

The best thermometer to interpret the evolution of this regional market is offered by the Passenger Traffic Report prepared by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (HIGH).

According to the latest edition of this report, in the first quarter of 2024, the cumulative passenger traffic transported by Latin American and Caribbean airlines increased by 9%incorporating 10 million more passengers than in the same period in 2023.
