Greece has a whopping 13,676 kilometers of coastline, including islands, and therefore more than enough choice to find a nice place to retire. The islands of Crete and Corfu remain particularly popular among people who emigrate to Greece. Athens is also a popular metropolis, says German-Greek lawyer Eleftheria Leptokaridou. Every year she accompanies Germans on their way to Greece.
According to the German pension insurance, 2,230 pensioners recently received their German pension in Greece. No wonder. Plenty of sunshine, lower costs, delicious food. But anyone who wants to emigrate to Greece can enjoy many more advantages.
