The US needs the collaboration of Argentina and the region

“The United States needs the collaboration of Argentina and Latin America,” that was the call of Susan Segal, President & CEO of the Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) within the framework of the Council of the Americas held this Wednesday at the Alvear Palace Hotel with the presence of prominent businessmen and officials from the national and provincial governments.

At the beginning of his speech, he stressed that Argentina has been going through structural problems for decades and underlined that the Government of Javier Milei and the country “have understood the economic problems they must face and are in the process of addressing them.” In a clear praise of the President, he said: “I would like to highlight the vision, leadership and work of Javier Milei and his excellent team. They implemented strong economic measures in pursuit of a stable future and strong growth for Argentina.”

Sigal then stressed that Argentina must continue with initiatives to facilitate investment in strategic sectors and emphasized that The US must maintain ties with Argentina and with the region, “whoever wins” the in-person elections in the United States to be held on November 5.

“The United States can be the best partner for Latin America and Latin America can be the best partner for the United States,” Sigal said.

Like Natalio Mario Grinmann, the President of the CAC, Sigal spoke about the situation in Venezuela with complaints from around the world about the legitimacy of the elections. In this context, he emphasized Javier Milei’s commitment to Venezuela: “it is fundamental for the stability of the region.”

Closing her presentation, Susan Sigal concluded: “We will continue to support Argentina.”
