The search for employees is increasingly becoming a never-ending story. A survey of 515 HR managers by the learning platform Studytube underlines how quickly new employees are ready to leave. In their experience, 28 percent of newly hired employees quit within the first twelve months. “You could definitely call it ‘job hopping’,” says Jörn Heyenrath from Studytube. “But that doesn’t surprise me given some hiring practices,” comments HR expert Stephanie Schorp. The reasons do seem obvious, but they don’t really get through to HR – and that’s a problem.
Studytube wanted to know why so many employees are apparently so disappointed with their new jobs. The HR managers named six main reasons:
