The federal government seems determined. At least in July it responded to a parliamentary question by saying that it really wanted to launch the subsidized retirement savings account and reform the Riester pension soon. Both of these things had been discussed many times in individual ministries, but nothing had happened. But now it is officially stated again: “The subsidized private retirement savings plan is to be fundamentally reformed during this legislative period.” According to reports, a draft of the government is to be presented next week.
