The legacy of the town dates back to the end of the 19th century, when the Banco Nación bought the “El Cerrito” field.This acquisition was part of the country’s colonizing policy to exploit the agricultural potential of the area. The financial institution allocated a portion of these lands for the construction of Colonia Cerrito, founded on March 10, 1882. Its promotion to Municipality occurred on April 10, 1974 through a decree of Governor Don Enrique Tomás Cresto.

How to get to Cerrito, Entre Ríos
This town is located at a short distance from the capital of Entre Ríos, Paraná. Cerrito has easy access through two different routes but the fastest way is through the combination of National Route 168 and National Route 12, which consists of a 53-kilometer route.
