It is one of the three oldest parishes in the City of Buenos Aires, declared a National Historic Monument.
Located at Belgrano Avenue 1151, The Nuestra Señora de Montserrat Parish is celebrating its 269th anniversary. It will celebrate with a procession through its streets on Sunday, September 8 at 5 p.m. The Federal Police band will accompany the procession and then a mass will be held at 7 p.m. led by Father Martín Pannati.

The story
The building in honor of the Catalan virgin of Our Lady of Montserrat was blessed and inaugurated on September 10, 1865. It was built by the architect Juan Manuel Raffo. However, long before, in 1754, the first stone of the parish church and cemetery of Our Lady of Montserrat was laid, which later gave rise to the current temple. At that time it was a small adobe and straw construction that grew thanks to the Catalan community. The first churches in America were dedicated to Our Lady of Montserrat, because for Spain in full expansion she was the Imperial Virgin.
