In South America, in addition to Bolivia with its rise and Brazil, which occupies fifth place, being one of the teams most affected by the last day of the Qualifiers, there is also Uruguay, which remains the third best positioned South American team in the ranking, ranking 12th, and, on the other hand, Chile, which suffered two defeats, and was one of those that fell the most, ranking 49th, after losing six places.
France, despite a defeat to Italy in the Nations League, held on to second place thanks to their victory over Belgium. Meanwhile, Spain, who drew with Serbia and beat Switzerland, remain in third place.
At the other end of the rankings, San Marino ended a 140-match winless streak with a historic 1-0 victory over Liechtenstein, but remains bottom of the table with 746.05 points. Brunei Darussalam and Samoa each moved up seven places, while Qatar dropped the most places with a total of ten places.
Finally, the team that lost the most points was Australia, which, although it did not drop as much in terms of positions, had a decrease of 26.99 units.
The next update of the FIFA rankings will be on October 23, and both the South American Qualifiers and the Nations League are expected to bring about significant changes. The focus will be on teams like Colombia and Brazil in South America due to their current contrasts, and on the European side, changes are expected to continue due to the high competition in their league and qualifying round.
