Tesla Cybertruck remotely shut down: Kadyrov blames Musk

In August, Chechnya’s ruler Kadyrov was proud of his Cybertruck and a fan of Elon Musk. Now the truck has apparently been shut down – and Kadyrov is angry.

Chechnya’s ruler Ramzan Kadyrov has accused Elon Musk of shutting down his Tesla Cybertruck. He allegedly received the car from the tech billionaire and Tesla boss in August. Musk “recently switched off the Cybertruck remotely,” Kadyrov said on Telegram on Thursday. “This is not a nice thing that Elon Musk is doing. He gives expensive gifts from the bottom of his heart and then switches them off,” the Chechen leader added.

In August, Kadyrov published a video showing him driving through the Chechen capital Grozny at the wheel of the US electric car manufacturer’s futuristic pick-up model. A machine gun was apparently mounted on the roof of the vehicle.

Actually, Kadyrov was a fan of Musk and the Cybertruck

In it, Kadyrov thanked Musk. Musk was “undoubtedly the greatest genius of our time,” a “specialist” and a “great man,” said Kadyrov, and invited Musk to visit him in Russia. Kadyrov later explained that the vehicle had been used in fighting in Ukraine – and had performed “admirably.”

Musk denied giving the Cybertruck to Kadyrov and told X that it was a “lie”.

Kadyrov, who has ruled Chechnya with an iron fist for more than 17 years, is a close ally of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin and says he has sent thousands of soldiers to Ukraine to support the Russian offensive.
