The judge Sebastian Ramos complied with the ruling of the Federal Chamber of Buenos Airesand officially requested the international arrest of the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduroand at his right hand, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.
According to the court ruling, the purpose of their arrest via Interpol is to have them extradited to Argentina for questioning in connection with the investigation against them for human rights violations in their country.
This Monday, the court of the City of Buenos Aires had instructed the magistrate to make the arrest order after “to verify that there exists in Venezuela a systematic plan of repression, forced disappearance of persons, torture, homicides and persecution against a portion of the civilian population, developed –at least– from 2014 to the present.”

Based on this ruling, federal judge Ramos ordered: “In order to comply with what was ordered by the Superior in point II and, following what was entrusted to this Court by Chamber I in point III of the aforementioned resolution, Issue arrest warrants for Nicolas Maduro Moros and Diosdado Cabellofor whom no other personal identity data is available, and, consequently, the international arrests of the named persons are ordered, via Interpol, for the purposes of extradition to the Argentine Republic. To this end, such orders are issued in compliance with the standards of the Statute of the International Criminal Police Organization. -Interpol (OIPC)”.
In addition to Maduro and his second in command, the Argentine justice system also requested the investigation and arrest of a group of 14 Venezuelan soldiers and police officersaccused by the Prosecutor’s Office to be part of “structures of the intervening command organizations.”

Interpol must now decide whether to issue red notices with arrest warrants to be in force at all airports around the world, although it has not yet decided whether it will approve them. Complaint against Nicolás Maduro and Diosdado Cabello for human rights violations
The complaint had been filed by the Argentine Forum for the Defense of Democracy which is made up of the Minister of Security of the city of Buenos Aires, Waldo Wolff, sponsored by lawyer Tomás Farini Duggan.
The prosecutor of the case, Carlos Stornelli, had requested the arrests of Mature and Hair But the magistrate had refused to do so until the conclusion of the evidentiary phase.
