Not everyone who moves abroad actually stays there for many years. That’s why it makes sense not to immediately burn all financial bridges to your home country. Because some people only want to “get out” for a few years but return at some point. Others at least keep a retreat option open if the plan for their new life does not come true as hoped. Still others would like to stay abroad permanently, but have financial obligations at home, which means that payments or income continue to flow: for example, because they pay maintenance, have to service long-term contracts or loans, or have rented out an apartment, receive business income, perhaps from Relatives are supported.
