Netflix confirmed the release date of the series “One Hundred Years of Solitude”the fiction is based on the novel of the same name by the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The series, which will have two parts of eight episodes, It will have its first delivery on December 11, 2024.
The two directors who will direct the first season are Alex Garcia Lopez and Laura Mora. García López directed series such as The Witcher and earlier in his career he was director of the series Utopiawinner of an International Emmy in 2014 for best drama series; and Mora is the director of Killing Jesus and The Kings of the Worlda film that has been selected to represent Colombia at the 2023 Academy Awards, and series such as green border and The robbery of the century.

One Hundred Years of Solitude is the story of the Buendía family, tormented by madness, impossible loves, war and the fear of a curse that condemns them to loneliness for 100 years in the mythical town of Macondo.
A part of the cast that includes Claudio Catano (Colonel Aureliano Buendía), Jerome Baron (young Aureliano Buendía), Marco Gonzalez (José Arcadio Buendía), Leonardo Soto (son of José Arcadio), Susana Morales (Úrsula Iguarán), Ella Becerra (Petronila), Carlos Suarez (Aureliano Iguarán), Moreno Borja (Melquiades), Santiago Vasquez (adolescent Aureliano Buendía).
The production design is by the Oscar winner for Pan’s Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro), Eugenio Caballerowhose recent works include Rome (Alfonso Cuaron) and Bard (Alejandro G. Iñarritú), and Barbara EnriquezCaballero’s regular collaborator in productions such as Roma, for which she was nominated for an Oscar, or El Premio, for which she won the Silver Bear in Berlin.
The script is from Jose Riverarecognized for films such as motorcycle diaries and The 33together with the Colombian screenwriters Natalia Santa, The robbery of the century, Camila Brugés, green border and Albatross Gonzalez Lynch, who also have the advice of Maria Camila Arias.
