Conny Runge has been paralyzed since an accident as a young woman. Today she is Germany’s first wheelchair Zumba trainer, breaking down everyday barriers – and giving tips on sexuality.
A party, and after that nothing in your life was the same. What happened?
I was always the daredevil type: climbing up every mountain, preferring to sit on the windowsill rather than on the chair, the most heard saying in my childhood was: Come down there! At a party with friends I sat right next to the open window. When a friend scared me for fun, I lost my balance and fell four meters down onto a concrete pillar.
Did you immediately realize how bad the injury was?

Do you then think: That’s it, my life is over?
