November 6, 2024 – 1:00 p.m.

PAMI expanded its formula of free medications in November 2024, offering essential treatments for chronic and complex pathologies.

In November 2024, the Comprehensive Medical Care Program (PAMI) renewed its list of free medications, providing relief to retirees and pensioners who depend on medical treatments for various pathologies. Following an agreement signed with pharmaceutical companies in October, the available treatments were expanded, allowing members to access a wide range of essential medicines.

This program seeks to ensure that beneficiaries can receive necessary medical care without the financial burden of medications. In order to access these benefits, a series of requirements must be met and the steps determined by PAMI must be followed.

How to access free medications?

To access free PAMI medications, you must follow these steps:

  1. Request recipe: Ask your GP to send the electronic prescription to the corresponding pharmacy.
  2. Remove medications: Present your ID and PAMI credential when picking up the medications.
  3. Retirement alternative: If you cannot pick up the medications, a family member or trusted person can do so with the necessary documentation.
  4. Management of other medications: If medications are required that are not on the free list, these can be managed through the PAMI website or at a corresponding agency.

By following these steps, members will be able to access the free medications that PAMI offers, thus ensuring the continuity of their treatments.
