Guillermo Francos questioned Mauricio Macri for his unfair criticism of Javier Milei’s management

Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos questioned the former president Mauricio Macri for his “unfair” criticism of the management, and assured that before “we were living in an escalation of prices and salaries that was leading us to a disaster”but that people today “he doesn’t have that concern.”

In television statements, the head of ministers expressed: “He is a former president who supports the general lines of the Government and sometimes criticizes the management, especially those of us who have the responsibility of managing. I think he does it unfairly.”

However, he supported the president of the PRO by pointing out: “It is interesting to analyze the issue of debt, (former Minister of Economy Martín) Guzmán made a reference to the IMF and “They award Macri the 45 billion from the fund, but they do not say what debt each government left.”

In that sense, he questioned the fiscal results of Kirchnerism’s efforts: “Peronism during the Kirchner administration, from 2003 to 2023, excluding the Macri period, the public debt grew by 300 billion dollars.”

“During the government of Alberto Fernández the fiscal deficit was 30 billion”he expressed and added: “Since there was a deficit, they had to issue so that inflation would not rise so much, the pesos were liquefied, they were left in the banks and a rate was paid. The banks preferred to lend to the State and there was no credit for the private sector. Today the State does not take a peso, it does not take money, it has no deficit and it does not issue.”

On the other hand, Francos pointed out that From the Executive Branch they know “that many people are not well, they do not make ends meet”but defended the economic measures adopted from December until then.

Before, people saw that inflation was growing every month. We were living in an escalation of prices and salaries that was leading us to a disaster. “This generated concern in people, which they don’t have today.”he remarked.

Guillermo Francos referred to the future of Aerolíneas Argentinas

In another passage of the note, the Chief of Staff referred to the situation of Argentine Airlines and anticipated that “he wants the company to be privatized.”

“What the Government does not accept is having to subsidize a company that lost 700 million dollars and that this year is going to end up losing. “It does not seem fair that the majority of Argentines, the 98% who do not fly, subsidize the 2% who fly and the company’s workers.”he questioned.

At the same time, he pointed out that during the meeting that the Government held with the aeronautical unions, the officials were instructed to advance in the modification of the “privileges” contemplated in collective bargaining agreements. “Let them be eliminated”, he sentenced.

“Hopefully common sense prevails, the Government is firm in its position, the President does not take steps back”concluded the head of ministers in dialogue with The Nation +.
