After receiving an intimation from the Justice, the Secretariat of Children, Adolescents and Family resolved the incorporation of 66 canteens of the civil association The Dawn of the Cartoneros to the Feed Community program.

Juan Bautista Ordoñez, who heads the portfolio that operates under the orbit of the Ministry of Human Capital, signed a resolution where determined that 66 dining rooms of El Amanecer de los Cartoneros will be added. The decision was made after the Court in Federal Administrative Litigation No. 7headed by Enrique Lavié Pico, gave him a three-day deadline to the Government on Thursday to distribute food.

Dining rooms: Justice ruled against the Government

The case had begun in early October when the Government removed the soup kitchens from the Alimentar Comunidad program by arguing that the agreements for those spaces had expired. However, the Union of Popular Economy Workers (UTEP) and CELS presented an amparo that was finally supported by Justice, which ruled that Food is delivered to the 66 canteens.

There are 11 remaining dining rooms that continue not to operate. The Government indicated in the middle of last month that they had not been able to relieve them to re-include them in the National Registry of Community Dining Rooms and Picnic Areas (Renacom) because “they were not functioning as such.”

Faced with this situation, the organizations filed a complaint in court regarding Federal Administrative Litigation No. 7 “the procedural fraud in which the Ministry of Human Capital“since once again it commits “non-compliance with the precautionary measure and the substantive ruling issued in this case.”

The presentation also demanded a disciplinary sanction against Pettovello for “recklessness and malice” in their handling of food in the dining rooms.

The judge Walter Lara Correa had ordered the continuity of the programs of the Argentina National Plan Against Hunger, the Alimentar Comunidad Program, the Alimentar Benefit Program and the UNDP Community Approach Program ARG 20/004, although it left the ministry the power to review, restructure or audit the programs, as long as the right to food of the target group is maintained effectively.
