In a new photo from Merlina season 2, Ortega is seen frowning and crossing her arms against an eerie outdoor backdrop, possibly a cemetery, with a Gothic gate and two robed statues carrying lanterns behind she. The season is scheduled to premiere in 2025.


What Merlina is about
Merlina follows the main character’s journey at Nevermore Academy, where her parents, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luiz Guzman) met 25 years ago. In season 1, Wednesday worked to master her emerging psychic abilities while tracking down a monster terrorizing the local town.
Along with Ortega, Zeta-Jones and Guzmán, the second season cast includes Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.
Zeta-Jones, Guzmán, Ordóñez and Lewis-Nyawo have been promoted to series regulars. Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane return as guests, while new guest stars include Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Joonas Suotamo. Besides Lady Gaga will make a cameo.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are the showrunners of Merlina, while Tim Burton directs. The three are executive producers along with Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman of 1.21 Entertainment), Kevin Miserocchi of the Tee and Charles Addams Foundation, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman of Glickmania, Gail Berman, Tommy Harper and Kevin Lafferty.
