Get to know the nominated films and series

The nominees for the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards were revealed today. This year’s strong film and television contenders include Wicked, Gladiator II, Anora, Conclave, A Complete Unknown, baby reindeer, The Bear, Shogun and Slow Horses.

Last year, Oppenheimerwhich would go on to win the Oscar for best picture, won five awards at the Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture, Drama, one of 14 film categories to be announced Monday. As for television, Succession and The Bear They took the honors for the best series in the last edition.

Two new categories at the January 2024 ceremony (Film and Box Office Achievement and Best Stand-up Comedy Performance on Television) also return for the ceremony taking place on January 5, 2025.

The comedian Nikki Glaser will host the 2025 ceremony, which will also Viola Davis will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Golden Globes for lifetime achievement in cinema. Ted Danson will receive the Carol Burnett Award in honor of her television career.
