New Deutsche Bahn timetable in force

Deutsche Bahn is struggling with a dilapidated network. Nevertheless, new connections are now being added.

With the timetable change, Deutsche Bahn is offering new connections and a more frequent service to other European countries. The federally owned company relies primarily on international trips. Comparatively little will change domestically when the new timetable comes into force on Sunday.

According to DB information, there will be more than 330 trips a day from Germany to twelve neighboring countries in the future. The state-owned company is particularly proud of a new direct ICE connection between Berlin and Paris. The journey from capital to capital should take eight hours. The daily connection begins operations on Monday.

Flex price tickets are on average 5.9 percent more expensive

Within Germany, the railway, which is struggling with a dilapidated route network and poor punctuality, wants to score points with, among other things, more sprinters between Berlin and Frankfurt. Six additional so-called sprinters drive without stopping between the capital and the Main metropolis in around four hours.

Traveling by train will sometimes become more expensive for customers. Anyone who wants to travel with the flex price will pay an average of 5.9 percent more. The Bahncard 100 is on average 6.6 percent more expensive.
