They propose incorporating personnel with military training for the fight against drug trafficking

Two legislators from Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba are promoting the modification of Provincial Law No. 10,227 to allow the Attorney General of the province to add “suitable personnel” after a specific course.

They will be able to do so after taking and passing a specific training course aimed at prosecuting drug trafficking.

The project was presented by the head of the Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba block, Miguel Sicilianoand the legislator of that same political force, Nadia Fernandez. For Siciliano, this initiative would allow “strengthen the human resources of the Anti-Drug Police Force (FPA) in order to make it impossible for this crime to advance, and to secure the borders of our province.”

The proposal of We Make United for Córdoba consists of modify Provincial Law No. 10,227 that regulates the FPA, and thus allow the incorporation of personnel who have had training in the Armed Forces without the need to do all the training requested for any person. In these cases, they may join after a specific course to fight drug trafficking.

With the modification, it would allow the Attorney General of the Province to request the incorporation into FPA of “suitable personnel from the Armed Forces of the Argentine Republic, who must complete training courses aimed at prosecuting these crimes” says the project.

Fight against drug trafficking: coordination with the Nation and other provinces

As the legislators explained, This initiative is part of other similar ones, particularly coordination actions with the national government and neighboring provinces. Among them is the creation of the Joint Operational Table in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security and the agreements with Santa Fe and Entre Ríos.

“The bill reaffirms the commitment of the province of Córdoba to the fight against drug trafficking, strengthening joint work and specialization to guarantee the safety of the people of Córdoba,” stated the Sicilian legislator.

For the head of the block of Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba “the fight against drug trafficking requires qualified, trained and committed personnel. This project is one more step to strengthen our security forces, articulating efforts between the provinces, the Nation and different security forces.”
