A traffic officer was run over this Christmas Wednesday during a breathalyzer test on Avenida Libertador and Callao, in the City of Buenos Aires. She was taken to the Fernández Hospital due to the blows, but she is out of danger.

The incident occurred during one of the vehicle breathalyzer controls that the City government installed for this December 25. A driver of a gray Toyota Ethios made a bad maneuver and attacked Camila, a Transit agent.
The driver I did not have the necessary car documentation to circulate and could not perform the test with the allometer, a device that detects alcohol in the breath. She suffered a state of shock for which she was treated by SAME.

According to what the head of the operation told C5N, “The agent has a severe blow to her leg, she was transferred to the Fernández Hospital.” For his part, the Buenos Aires official stated that “the lady is not in a position to carry out the control with the allometer or the breathalyzer.”
Alcohol controls in the City of Buenos Aires
On Christmas Eve, more than 150 drivers were sanctioned for testing positive nationwide and only in CABA, the reinforcements were double compared to 2023.
This 2024 the controls were doubled compared to previous holidays. The Buenos Aires Government promoted 5,399 tests until 7 this Wednesday, almost double the 3,134 carried out last year.
In total, 45 drivers had more than the 0.5 gram of blood alcohol allowed and their license was withheld. However, the positivity rate was similar: this year it was 0.83% and last year it was 0.9%.
In the City, one in every 5 fatal accidents is related to alcohol consumption. The maximum tolerated limit of blood alcohol is 0.5 gr/l for private vehicles, 0.2 gr/l for motorcyclists and 0.0 gr/l for beginners and professional drivers.
