The new tower scheduled for completion in 2026, will allow Arla Foods to meet the growing demand for high-quality whey ingredients in the international market. Currently, the Porteña plant produces whey protein concentrates, functional milk proteins and powder permeates, positioning itself as the leading whey processor in Mercosur.
In this framework, Recently, a convoy of 54 trucks from Brazil arrived at the plant transporting machinery and equipment destined for this new drying tower. This is the first of four shipments scheduled for January, including trailers capable of transporting up to 80 tons.
The truth is that the investment project had been announced and confirmed by the company in October 2023, but its implementation ended up being delayed until the beginning of 2025.
Arla Foods, based in Viby, Denmark, has operated in Argentina since 2000 and employs around 300 people locally. The company exports approximately 90% of its production and seeks to continue growing in this business segment.
