For many entrepreneurs, climate-friendly restructuring is high on the priority list for 2025. But not everyone wants to invest. You are missing something crucial.
Many entrepreneurs in Germany are planning investments in climate protection in 2025 – but at the same time, a large proportion of them lack planning security in energy policy. This was the result of a YouGov survey for the cooperative organization Genoverband in December.
A good third (34.6 percent) of the 755 decision-makers surveyed rate the energy policy framework in this country as “very bad” or “bad”. Almost 27 percent rate the planning security in these questions as “mediocre”. Almost 30 percent rate it as “good” or “very good”.
“Even large companies that have entire staffs of specialists for sustainable transformation are feeling insecure,” summarizes the CEO of Hannoversche Volksbank, Jürgen Wache. In medium-sized companies, the resources for such topics are very limited.
Many companies want to invest despite uncertainty
Nevertheless, around seven out of ten companies (66.9 percent) want to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energies in the current year. The most frequently mentioned are the conversion of the energy supply to renewable energies and the energy-efficient renovation of company buildings.
A number of companies have also planned to modernize their machinery or electrify their fleet. However, almost a quarter of entrepreneurs (23.7 percent) say that they do not want to invest in sustainability in 2025.
