Verdi calls parcel deliverers of the post office to warning strike

After the letter delivery on Tuesday, Verdi is now on the parcel delivery at Deutsche Post. The effects are initially still unclear.

In the collective bargaining conflict at Deutsche Post, the Verdi union is now also calling on warning strikes in parcel delivery. Verdi said in the morning. “The message is clear: we are serious and we are ready to fight for our demands,” said Deputy Verdi chairwoman Andrea Kocsis.

The union had already strike selected letter centers on Tuesday to increase the pressure on Deutsche Post in the tariff round. The effects were limited due to the only selective outstanding.

More money and more relaxation required

Verdi calls for a fee plus of seven percent for the approximately 170,000 tariff employees of the Swiss Post in Germany. They should also get three extra vacation days. If you are a Verdi member, you should even get four additional vacation days. The union justifies its demand with the more expensive everyday life and the increased workload, which requires more free time and thus more recovery.

The mail goes too far, it demands an economically sustainable tariff increase. The company refers to the mailing quantities and the high investment needs in the digital age. The post office announced that the tariff round, which starts on February 12, announced an offer.
