Passengers have to adjust to significant restrictions on the BVG again. The Verdi union increases the pressure in the collective bargaining. An agreement is not in sight.
In the collective bargaining dispute at the Berlin transport businesses (BVG), the Verdi union called again to the warning strike for next Monday. From 3:00 a.m. in the morning, Berlin local transport should largely come to a standstill for 24 hours, the employee side said.
It is already the second industrial action in the current tariff round. The S-Bahn is not affected by the strip. It is not operated by the BVG, but by Deutsche Bahn.
Verdi rejects BVG offer
“After a detailed discussion with the employees, the Verdi tariff commission at BVG rejects the offer of the board of January 31,” said the union. The BVG again announced that he had “no understanding” for the warning strike.
According to the company, the BVG offer provides for 15.3 percent more money for employees at a term of four years until the end of 2028. The new collective agreement should therefore apply retrospectively from January 1, 2025.
The union, in turn, wants to enforce 750 euros more for the approximately 16,000 employees per month with a term of twelve months. In addition, she calls for a 13th monthly salary to drive a driving service or exchange allowance in the amount of 300 euros and a layer allowance of 200 euros. The next round of negotiations will be scheduled for next Tuesday.
