This will not like US billionaire and Amazon owner Jeff Bezos: his group can no longer offer the streaming service Prime Video in Germany as before.
Amazon had to take a defeat in a patent dispute with a Nokia subsidiary. The district court of Düsseldorf gave an injunction from Alcatel-Lucent on Friday. Amazon is therefore no longer allowed to offer its streaming service Prime Video in Germany in its previous form. Otherwise there is a penalty of up to 250,000 euros or orderly for each infringement. The judges rejected another Nokia lawsuit against the US group.
Nokia welcomed the court’s decision. “We hope that Amazon accepts his obligations and agrees to a license agreement on fair conditions.” Amazon was initially not available for a comment. First, the “Wirtschaftswoche” had reported on the case.
