The European Central Bank (ECB) reduced the key interest rate for the fifth time in January, and experts expect further steps for this year. In the middle of the year, as reported, the KIM Ordinance, which provided strict lending guidelines, will expire. The domestic construction industry expects positive impulses for the new building and renovation area. “We notice signals of confidence. The sole of the valley in the construction industry seems to go through, it goes in the right direction,” said Business Councilor Markus Achleitner on Monday. The dream of home was only postponed and not abandoned.
This confidence is also the “We Build” energy saving fair, which takes place from March 7th to 9th in the Wels trade fair. The event, which has been taking place in Wels since 1991, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. 380 exhibitors will be there, 60 are new. The fair, according to trade fair Wels President Peter Franzmayr “the largest of its kind in German-speaking countries”, has been divided into new themed worlds for the first time this year. There are also lectures from the energy saving association, climate-active lectures and an energy-saving academy, personal advice and two special shows on the topics of energy communities and insulation materials. More than 81,000 interested parties visited the fair in the previous year: Franzmayr and managing director Robert Schneider also assume similar figures this year.
As reported, the federal funding “out of the oil” for the boiler exchange at the end of the year has expired. There have been around 17,000 funding applications from Upper Austria beforehand, and there are around 5,000 applications for renovation checks: these funding must now be redeemed within twelve months. This also expects impulses, according to the managing director of the energy saving association, Gerhard Dell.
