The next round of collective bargaining on the train is imminent. Both sides meet in Berlin from Tuesday to Wednesday. The EVG union not only demands more money.
The Deutsche Bahn and the Railway and Transport Union (EVG) meet on Tuesday (from 9:00 a.m.) for the second round of collective bargaining for around 192,000. The talks are scheduled for two days up to and including Wednesday.
An agreement at this meeting is not to be expected. Passengers can look at the negotiations relaxed. By the end of March, a peace obligation in which warning strikes are excluded applies.
EVG demands 7.6 percent more money
Both sides are still significantly apart when offering and demands. The union calls for 7.6 percent more and additional money of a further 2.6 percent for shift workers. Part of it should be converted into days off. In view of the economic crisis on the railway, the EVG also wants to enforce an employment guarantee by the end of 2027.
In the first round, employers gradually offered 4 percent more and the 2.6 percent required for shift workers. The term should be 37 months.
