These are the nominees for the Feronia Sustainability Prize

The selection was difficult because the quality of the more than 100 submissions at the Sustainability Prize of the OÖN and the Oberbank – Feronia 2025 – was high. But now the best seven representatives have been determined in the respective category – see the nominees below and arranged on the adjacent side by category. The rush was alphabetically and is no indication of a placement.

After determining the nominated, the top -class jury is now on the train. It will look at the applications in the next few days and evaluate with a point system.

Companies, clubs or private individuals from Upper Austria were able to apply in four categories: “Dre and through sustainable”, “sustainable product and service”, “variety of sustainability” as well as “Learning and teaching” for educational institutions. Feronia is an award for ecology, sustainability and concrete climate protection and will be awarded for the third time this year.

The winners receive a bronze trophy from the old title goddess Feronia, which stands for flowers, spring and earth. The statues made the sculptor Christine Perseis living in Mondsee. The prices will be awarded on March 20 in the Oberbank at a solemn and entertaining gala in Linz. The German actor and environmental activist Hannes Jaenicke will give a lecture. The winners receive a media volume per category (in the OÖNachrichten) and 5000 euros (from the Oberbank). Everyone is invited to come and use the evening to network. Through and through sustainable

• Akkutec GmbH: The young company from Wels has already repaired more than 4,500 broken e-bike batteries. This prevents valuable raw materials from landing in the garbage and new batteries from the Far East have to be bought prematurely. The four employees are also planning an online shop for reproduced batteries.
