If you want to travel from Germany to London by train, you have to change change so far. The idea for direct connections has been around for years – now movement could get into the matter.
The journey by train from Germany to Great Britain could soon be easier. As the “Times” reports, the plans for direct connections from Cologne and Frankfurt to the British capital London will be more specific after signing a new cooperation agreement between the operators of the Eurotunnel and the British high -speed route. When the first direct trains could drive is open.
So far, the trip from Germany to London is only possible by train by train. According to Deutsche Bahn, there are up to ten connections with a change in Brussels every day. The desire to offer direct connections has been around for many years. So far, only high-speed trains from the French-British company Eurostar have been driving through the tunnel under the English Channel.
The Kanalt tunnel operator Getlink announced “a number of new goals” in Germany, Switzerland and France. The background is the planned expansion of the London long -distance station St Pancras International with a significant increased passenger capacity. The aim is that competing railway companies from London can also head from new destinations.
