A life between time pressure and traffic jams: truck drivers promote goods and goods across the country. But what do men actually earn on axis? Here is our salary check.
Without them, the highway would be nice and empty – just like our refrigerators: trucks. It is therefore more silly to be annoyed as a driver about them. The men who control the colossus run several billion tons of goods through the Federal Republic every year. Railways and ships only transport a fraction of this amount.
Truck drivers are important for our economy. But as with many other relevant professions, this does not reflect in their salary. What do drivers earn?
Truck drivers popular at the federal government
The salaries of truck drivers differ greatly. Only a minority belongs to a union. Correspondingly few drivers are paid according to a collective agreement.
It is attractive to drive for the state – in the public service. In such a job he applies. Newly set drivers receive a flat -rate fee of 3422.11 euros gross per month if they drive between 185 and 196 hours a month. The higher the monthly working time, the higher the salary.
Anyone who is paid for after this will receive an hourly wage of 14.27 euros to 15.42 euros as a beginner. At 40 hours a week there is a gross salary between 2283.20 euros and 2467.20 euros. After two years of professional experience, the hourly wage increases to 14.70 euros to 15.85 euros (as of September 2024).
Professional experience hardly pays off
According to a project by the union and social science institute (WSI), the average gross monthly wage is around 2310 euros a month when starting your career. However, professional experience hardly pays off. Even after ten years, the salary is only 2400 euros. Even after 20 years in the job, drivers earned on average only 2440 euros, according to the WSI.
The WSI data is based on the salary information of 4277 professional drivers: inside. They also show that the profession is still strongly male. Only three percent of the respondents were female. With around 2220 euros, their salary is almost eight percent below that of their male colleagues.
